Printed sales catalogue with soft touch lamination-photos

Project description

Many years went by since we are partners of Surf Session, printing their books and specialized magazines. In the case of “Shape”, the challenge was to develop a product with a luxury finishing, to resist the pass of the time. In order to get it, the choice was an anti-scratching lamination able to highlight the quality of the picture on the cover, and the PUR binding to guarantee the integrity of the product for ever.

At first stage, Surf Session requested a laminated cover with spot UV varnish. As it was a very dark picture, we recommended an anti-scratching lamination to guarantee the handling and the pass of time without damaging the cover.

We showed our customer the effects of a standard matt lamination on a dark background. The finger-prints and marks appear with the handling, removing value to a quality product like the Shape guide. Finally, they decided an anti-scratching lamination and dropped the spot varnish to reduce costs.

The matt lamination proves elegant and sobriety on the publications. However, in the case of Shape, a guide which must last in time, the anti-scratching lamination is the best solution, joining quality and resistance, respecting the magnificence of the cover.
